Semitism

Semitism is a post-Zionist Jewish liberation tendency emphasizing the commonalities between Jews and other Semitic peoples, as well as the need for the children of Israel’s reintegration into the region through a long overdue decolonization process.

While Jews have been deeply connected to this land for thousands of years, the colonization of Jewish identity that took place over centuries of forced exile has caused Israel to adopt colonial policies and structures that cause Jews to appear as aliens (because these policies and structures are in fact alien to Hebrew identity and values).

Although the Jewish people attained material liberation through the creation of the State of Israel, this came at the expense of another people that continues to suffer as a result of policies directly influenced by Israel’s identity crisis, as well as our national bourgeoisie’s infatuation with the West and subservience to the forces of empire.

Jewish liberation today is fully intertwined with Palestinian liberation and requires the Jewish people to reject colonial structures, re-embrace our Semitic identity, and indigenize back into the region.
